Traveling along Nevada's Highway 50? Your travels along the Loneliest Road would be incomplete without a halt at the one and only Middlegate Station. Home to the legendary Middlegate Monster Burger, this authentic roadhouse pit stop is located one hour east of Fallon in Middlegate, and is one of only a handful of its kind in Nevada (let alone the country), combining serious American West history, delicious cuisine, and a unique Sagebrush Saloon atmosphere.
This authentic Sagebrush Saloon, established in 1860 as a Pony Express station, is as picture-perfect as it comes. In the kitchen resides a legendary creature known as the Middlegate Monster. Middlegate Station is a must-visit whether you're looking to vanquish the multi-pound burger beast or simply enjoy the old-school roadhouse atmosphere.
Plenty of space. There is a laundromat and a shower available for a fee. Easy to locate a level location. The people here are wonderful. The cuisine was delicious and reasonably priced, and the beer is inexpensive. Even Monday Night Football was broadcast in the pub. The proprietor even gave us a tour of the property and the building. This station has a lengthy and fascinating history, and a visit is highly recommended. There is a beautiful view of the neighboring mountains from this location. Off the road enough to have minimal road disturbance. Even an owl was soaring around.
